Rebranding & refreshes

Keep what matters. Make room to grow.

A considered brand refresh or rebrand for an established business. Review the existing identity, agree the changes and plan the transition.

Talk about this project

What has actually changed?

A rebrand can begin with a new audience, a different service mix, a merger or a name that creates confusion. Start by describing that change. A visual preference alone gives the project very little to work with.

We review the existing name, logo, copy and applications, along with the evidence you can share. Ask which parts customers recognise, where misunderstandings occur and what the business now needs to communicate.

Decide what deserves to stay.

The history of a business has value. Familiar colours, a distinctive name or a mark customers recognise may deserve a place in the next identity. We document those decisions so the project has continuity.

A refresh can refine typography, colours and applications around an existing identity. A broader rebrand can revisit positioning, naming and the visual system. The recommendation follows the problem found during the review.

Test the change in real situations.

We show the proposed direction where people encounter the business: a website, a quotation, a profile image or a printed item. This makes it easier to identify a good idea that needs practical refinement.

For a name change, legal review and checks of relevant domains and handles need a place in the schedule. The studio can develop creative directions; legal clearance requires the right professional assessment.

Make the handover manageable.

List every place the existing identity appears and decide which items need to change together. Website, email signatures and sales documents are often a useful starting group. Packaging, signs, uniforms and third-party listings may have separate production times.

Give each item an owner, a file and a date. Keep old and new assets clearly separated. Staff and suppliers need enough information to use the approved version without guessing.

Protect the useful history.

A website rename or address change needs an appropriate redirect plan and checks after release. Keep a record of previous assets, approved decisions and where existing links point. A rollout should account for the customer who remembers the old name.

Tell us what is changing, the deadline behind it and the materials already in use. We will discuss the smallest workable scope and the items that need specialist help.

BEFORE WE START

A few useful answers.

Do we have to change the logo?

No. A review may support keeping the mark and improving the surrounding system. The recommended changes should answer a defined business need.

Can a rebrand happen in stages?

Often, yes. We can plan a sequence around production, budgets and customer communications. Critical changes need coordinated approval.

Will you move our website?

Website work can be included as a separate part of the scope, with URL mapping, redirects and testing where needed.

A GOOD CONVERSATION IS A GOOD START.
